By David Kersten, Creator of Quantum Leap In this Quantum Leap Podcast, Cory Nott and I interview David J. Toman a Bay Area creative who specializes in high quality photography and videography. I have known David for about a year now and he has taught me a lot about the visual arts, as well as hired me and helped me with a number of major projects in both photography and videography. Most recently, David produced my business headshot, and I was impressed with how supportive and easy to work with David was, as well as producing images that surpassed my initial expectations. David has a lifetime of experience in headshot photography, but discusses how he has had to “pivot” his business during COVID-19 due to there being less headshot work and more potential in the related but different video field. Overall, this has been a good thing for David in recent months as I have seen him grow dramatically as a professional in both is work and offerings including mastering real estate video, capturing great aerial views using drones, creative camera movements using gimbals, as well as video storytelling and creative video editing. Pricilla said she has “always been really impressed with his work, it is so much more creative than the average photographer,” she said. “David has a great eye…you can’t teach that,” Pricilla said noting that you either have it or you don’t and David definitely has a great eye.
